2009 RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT
Manny portions of the Act have changed from 2008. The individual tax deduction for; Solar PV, Solar Heat and Wind Energy is now 30% of the total project with no dollar Limit.

Subsidies from local Electric Utilities vary by location but most are in the 50% range.  Most are payable immediately upon completion and inspection. Subsidies received from the Electric Utility are now exempt from federal income tax.

There is now, a 30% federal tax credit up to $1,500.00 for Residential Energy Efficient Appliances. This includes; Water Heaters, Boilers, Heat Pumps, Air Conditioning, insulation, Windows, Doors, Roofs, Ski Lights, Metal/Asphalt Roofs designed to reduce Heat gain, Oil Water Heaters and Biomass Burning Wood Stoves including Pellet Stoves.

THIRD GENERATION Hybrid SOLAR SYSTEMS are available in 2009. Panels that produce hot water and electric power increase overall system efficiency. As a solar

Cell heats up, its efficiency goes down. When water is used to cool the PV Cell two energy streams are produced. Another innovation of these Third Generation systems

Came with the advent of Light Concentrating Lenses and Covers.  Two to three times  as much power can be produced from the same number of solar cells by concentrating the light. Light Tracking Systems become less necessary to archive very high efficiency Rates.  Manny third generation solar panels have switches or diodes that isolate poor Performing solar panels. In old systems, when one panel dropped production the power from all panels, in the row dropped.  These 3^rd generation systems prevent this from taking place even when, a portion of the panels is shaded.  Tracking will increase overall Power production, but it is now less necessary. Geothermal Heat Pumps now have a federal tax credit of 30% with no dollar limit under the Residential Renewable Energy portion of the Act.

Solar Powered Air Conditioning was only a dream until now.
